He never cried. And knew Light’s contempt and open disgust at human weakness. Tears were too human for L as a person and detrimental to his defences; he could not let them own him for a second.
L, thus, judged, from reasonable reasons, that Light would hate seeing them on him.
Light was proficient at doing it to him - cutting open, pulling at his soul-heart-whatever insides he had, tangling his thoughts out of malicious purpose and “righteous” bloody mission.

L does not cry. He is not someone who is capable of crying. They sleep together time after time, and he does not cry.

Summary
Just like the ATLAS, he and Light were destined to burn. He knew this. He knew it. It was only logical.
People like Light, charismatic, polished, likable, didn’t stay with people like him. His orbit was drifting out of sync. Soon, they would become asynchronous again, tracing individual paths that would never meet.
Light would stay here, tethered to the glory. The pressure. Continue on the trajectory that he had always been destined to.
L would untether himself again. Searching for another planet to gravitate toward.

Summary
During their forced proximity, Light notices something peculiar about L - the man was averse to touch, completely overwhelmed handling human connection. He plans to exploit that for revenge, but soon finds that humanizing L might be detrimental to his own plans...
I feel like the terrifying implications of Wammy's House and L having a successor despite his young age are talked about way too little. So I wrote a fanfic about it.
