Tommy's family is shit.
They see him as a form of entertainment, a fun little human boy they can coddle and display. They throw him away once they've gotten bored of him, neglecting him for the next 2 years. He's sick and tired of their awfulness.
So he runs.
He runs into the forbidden forest, where he meets a fae named Dream. A fae, who was originally hellbent on kidnapping him to become his eternal servant. Instantly, he gets way too attached to the kid; who in turn needs a way to escape the clutches of his abusive family."So whadaya say about becoming a fae with me?"
Thus making: a consentual kidnapping. That's not how faerie kidnapping is supposed to work.

“Hello young child.” His voice was smooth, almost airy. Tommy knew not to trust it though, nor did he trust the closed mouth smile or the calming aura. Everything about this man screamed ‘Trust me!’ and yet also ‘I have no good intentions’.
Tommy Innit, village orphan and thief somehow finds himself befriending the forest creatures he was raised to fear. It's not his fault they're kinder to him than everyone else!

In which Tommy Soot, originally born in 1509, is cursed to be reborn, to never reach adulthood unless he figured out the Greek myth of his lifetime. He had one rule of not allowing himself to get attached to people but he would have never guessed that a foster family of the creator of Minecraft, an anime stan and a Soundcloud musician would break that rule.
