Summary
Few people know which scent belongs to whom, with the way Anaxa and Phainon constantly smell of each other. That is, until a business trip takes Phainon across the globe for a couple of weeks, and his scent gradually fades from Anaxa.
Enter Eacus, the newest hire at Grove Games, who comes into work bright and early on Monday morning and is met with a scent he doesn’t recognize.
He will not rest until he finds out who it belongs to.

“Uh, a what?” Aventurine blubbers like an idiot. “What kind of curio is that?”
Ratio crosses his arms over his chest. “It’s a curio made by a scientist on Vega-IX. Someone from the Armed Archaeologists managed to discover this curio buried underneath a research facility there.”
“Okay, and what does it do?” Aventurine asks, as if he doesn’t already know the answer. The painful throb in his chest is still persistently there, after all.
“I think you already know what it does,” Ratio says with a look of pity.
Or in which Aventurine gets cursed by a curio that compels him to speak only the truth and refuses to go down alone.

Summary
Aventurine makes it out of the abyss - and into a different world. Things are different here - simpler. There are no Aeons, no intergalactic factions and corporations, no Paths and Blessings. He is not naïve enough to assume that there is no cruelty and discrimination here - for there always is - but for the most part, everything is peaceful.
Here, Aventurine's priorities are getting people's coffee orders right. Fairly straight forward, if you ask him.
Except for the bit where he is surrounded by too many familiar faces, and they remind him of a place he can no longer return to. That's okay. People come and go, and so will they.
Except for the bit where they come and go and come back.
AKA. Aventurine gets dropped into a coffee-shop AU with all the memories from before. He's handling things until he's not handling things. That's okay, because he still has friends (and Dr Ratio) in this world. He just doesn't know it yet.
