Head Servant Ren had seen many strange things in his life, but he had never seen a Fire Lord sobbing into the shoulder of a Waterbending Master, the wall of flames surrounding the throne reduced to embers, the whole room echoing and empty.
Head Servant Ren had also heard many, many strange things in his life, but none were as heartbreaking as the voice of the Fire Lord, the most powerful person in the Fire Nation, asking over and over again why his mother chose to forget.
