There was so much pressure - he needed to pass his debt plan, but wasn't getting anywhere with Thomas Jefferson or James Madison. His wife was gone with the children to Albany. He forgets to eat. Doesn't sleep. To top it all off, he has to walk back home in the cold after a freak snowstorm.
