At times, when he considers the differences, when he wonders what made him a player rather than an accessory to the game, he asks himself if he could have been anything else.
If being a dark reflection meant he was always going to end up like this, as cold as the mirror itself, or if he would have been kinder if the person on the other end was a monster in his place.(Or, a(n attempted) Ryuga's character study I wrote in a feverish five straight hours of writing while working on another (hopefully better) fic about various characters relationships towards a self that seemed designed for violence.)

Very cool fic which does a lot with its formatting to tell the rest of its deeply engaging and layered story. Very fun use of more minor characters (in Canon continuity with specific attention for me to Dead-end, Comber and Blaster my forever), has refs to a bunch of the franchise's history (hello Diaclone) and earned my eternal loyalty through Wheelratch crumbs (Godspeed).
So yes: real fun surprisingly cosy read given the focus on darker concerns. As I am incapable of not reading it in one setting thanks to the highly addictive structure, please make sure to read it early in the morning Future Me, we can't be pulling so many all nighters.
To recommend to the Dearest among Dears at first opportunity.

The hunters manage to snatch Remmick away during their chase. The logical next step follows.
