Not nearly enough discussion of their relationship when it's one of my favourite in the movie, for all that it more subtle than the "main ones", so seeing this is a blessing.The writing had the same colour as a glow in the dark (around 3 am) and I find that so impressive.

Very cool fic which does a lot with its formatting to tell the rest of its deeply engaging and layered story. Very fun use of more minor characters (in Canon continuity with specific attention for me to Dead-end, Comber and Blaster my forever), has refs to a bunch of the franchise's history (hello Diaclone) and earned my eternal loyalty through Wheelratch crumbs (Godspeed).
So yes: real fun surprisingly cosy read given the focus on darker concerns. As I am incapable of not reading it in one setting thanks to the highly addictive structure, please make sure to read it early in the morning Future Me, we can't be pulling so many all nighters.
To recommend to the Dearest among Dears at first opportunity.

Summary
For some reason, Aikawa Hajime was Kenzaki’s soul nemesis, someone who posed such an inherent threat to him that fate had seen it fit to mark him out personally. The thing was, Hajime didn’t actually seem like a bad person. Despite everything, there was something in Kenzaki that wanted to trust him, to fight alongside him rather than against him, even if it meant going up against destiny itself.
But some fates were always meant to be tragedies.In which Kenzaki knows from the very start that Hajime will be his undoing but falls in love with him anyway.

This is such a good thoughtful read. A lot of headcanons that made me think more about the characters and how it'd have affected them, and the idea of half-corean Kenzaki is not only very well written (I thought) but also add another layer to his and Hajime's relationship and the loneliness under pining their first understanding.
The implementation of the soul nemesis was also really interesting and I loved all the parts about its effect (or lack thereof) on undeads.
This is just a fic that understand Blade in a way I find beautiful and compelling and which speaks to a lot of the reason as to what made Blade such a special and healing show for me. I want to keep it close to my heart forever. -

Very fond of the fact that the love here feels... tangible I guess? Like recognizable as an emotion that comes in many shapes.
Especially fond of the fact that it includes my beloved Kazami Shirou and his guy. So rare to see Showa era fics, and it feels like a deepening of some of what is found in the show.
