In one world, Hojo Emu learns the value of life after being treated by a kind doctor after getting hurt by a car, setting a course of a life long journey to become a doctor and eventually a hero.
However, in another world he never met the doctor because he never got hit by a car therefore never learning the value of life, thus never becoming a hero...but a villain. -

Finally, things are well. As well as they can be. Now the problems that they all face are much more... mundane. Kuroto and Dr. Yaotome work to restore the Bugsters who were once human to be humans again, and to find a way to bring back those who had died to Game Disease. Emu seems happier, lighter, and Graphite learns about who he is outside of being Emu's friend. But bringing back those lost may cause some ripples in the calm water, or worse, waves.

Summary
Someone from the past comes around and discovers Emu Hojo no longer exists, having been replaced by Emu Kagami. It is then they discover that they couldn't just let the past go. Their jealousy over Emu having a new father only adds more jet fuel to the already burning fire. Just how far will they go in an attempt to get their "son" back? Yet, their son no longer exists in this world, and they seem to refuse to accept that.

"What are you staring at?" Graphite snarled, lips curling up to reveal his fangs.
Kuroto pulled his hand back, the chain links glinting in the light as they tightened around Graphite's throat. Not so much that it would hurt him, just enough that he felt them press against his simulated skin. Graphite scoffed, leaning back so they tightened further, surely hurting him now, but they bit into Kuroto's skin as well, deep enough to bruise, teetering on the edge of making him bleed.
