“I won’t hurt you, Steve. It’s me, it’s Robin. You’re safe now, okay? You’re safe. I promise. I’m here. Robin’s here.”
“Rob?” Steve whispers weakly, his voice scratchy.
“Yeah, it’s me, it’s me. You’re safe now.” I move forward slowly, not wanting to scare him. He flinches at my touch but lets me pull him into a gentle hug, and as soon as I do, he breaks. He slumps forward into me, sobs escaping from his mouth. He shakes in my arms, falling apart right in front of me.

Steve Harrington has pretended to be fine for too long. He’s kept certain things a secret that he shouldn’t have. He’s vulnerable and hurt and doesn’t want to let anyone in, but he doesn’t have a choice. Maybe, for once, he has to let someone help him. It’s not like his helpers are okay either – Dustin is paranoid and constantly trying to make everything “fine”, Robin is spiralling, her thoughts consuming her, and she’s struggling to keep secrets from the one person she never used to lie to. But they both want to help. Steve just has to learn how to let them.

Summary
The Squawk reunites in Philadelphia, at the huge house of Robin's weird uncle, to spend a few days together. They drink, remember, and in between all of that, help Jonathan move forward with his anti-capitalist, cannibal film. There's no rush and no big plans, just them.
Their bond doesn't seem to have broken after saving Hawkins, nor after becoming adults. Being together again makes it clear that some things have changed, and others not so much.

In a slightly different turn of events, things pan out differently for the group of misfits you call friends and suddenly someone must be bait. You all found out Will could tap into the hivemind via demogorgon...but there's just one problem- it escaped before he could enter it. This demo has a vengeful streak, after all it came back to life with massive rods in it's limbs, so you suggest luring it back out. Only, Steve, the one person you didn't want volunteering, happens to volunteer. Will your relationship survive or, more importantly, will he?
