They had a rare five-day stretch with no games, practices, or obligations, and Ilya had been forming a plan of how to spend their solitude for weeks. He knew how hard the season had been on Shane, and although he had initially planned to wait until tonight, Shane obviously needed him now. He needed to be taken out of his head, and Ilya was more than happy to oblige.

There’s warmth laced in the words, and Shane can’t help but laugh ever so slightly, but he catches something serious in Ilya’s expression.

Shane nods, hoping he’s finally going to get some sort of explanation for Ilya’s bizarre behaviour. For a second, he worries that he might be mad, although it would be ironic for Ilya to lecture anyone on reckless behaviour since he's been its number one proponent since birth.

The moment he shoved the front door open, he found himself pressed into the entranceway wall with a mouth devouring his own.

“You’re a fucking brat,” Ilya practically snarled, gripping Shane’s chin tightly in one hand while the other kept Shane’s hips pinned to the wall.

Soap paused, picking up the pen. He looked over his list. Three columns, “yes”, “no”, and “maybe”. He pulled the paper close. Hesitating, he underlined a single item, then crossed out the rest of them one by one. When he finished, he looked back at Ghost, as if daring him to say something about it. When Ghost didn’t, Soap pushed the paper over, crossing his arms over his chest.
Underlined was “kneeling” under “yes”, the only thing left on the page. It didn’t matter what the other “yes” items had been, they were very clearly in the “no” column now.
Ghost forced himself not to feel frustrated, had to admit to himself that Soap might be the most challenging sub he had ever had assigned into one of his units.

It's harder when he's teetering on the edge of a drop, and he knows he needs to go down, wants it almost more than he wants his next breath, but he can't. He's tried, tried to let himself go in the rec room like his Major ordered, tried to find someone in his unit to help him. Hell, he's even tried to go down to the youtube videos of Dom's voices. It's dangerous as fuck to go down alone, but he's desperate. If he can't find a way to get himself down, he'll be benched. and if he can't go on missions, he'll have nothing.
He knows he's a lot. Knows he's too loud, too opinionated, too hard to get down, too hard to keep down, too needy when he is down. But he doesn't know how to stop.
