    Summary

Pomni hit the ground hard enough to knock the wind out of her. She gasped for air, coughing a few times, the cold of the ground helping to orient her. There were spots in her vision and she winced at the sharp throb in her skull.

Finally, her lungs filled with air and her eyes were able to open and she saw…what the hell was she looking at? Pomni was on the ground, on her back, and in front of her was some kind of…pod? Chamber? The front door had unlatched and was currently wide open, the clamps that had previously kept her secured in place open and empty, a headset melded to the headrest. A headset that was distinctly empty…because her head was attached to her body…on the ground— holy shit is she real?!

“What would you do if I abstracted tomorrow?”

“I’d move on,” Jax said. “And probably forget about you.”

Hearing those words from Jax was not surprising. Pomni knew the kind of ‘archetype’ he claimed (wanted) to be. Jax was mean. A self-proclaimed jokester. Cruel. Jax treated everyone like playthings to hurt for his own twisted amusement. He thought it was funny.

But Pomni knew that wasn’t true.

    Summary

Here we go again. Damn it, no.
It had been a long time since he'd had his OCD.
The day after the adventure at the beach — and in Caine's office, subsidiary — Jax felt something slipping away from him. Control. The certainty that everything would be fine as long as he pretended. The night amplifies everything: the thoughts that repeat in his head constantly, the gestures that need to be checked, the panic that tightens his throat and refuses to let him breathe...
And when staying awake becomes unbearable, he has only one option left: to let go, even if it means entrusting his mind to a state where control no longer exists.
    Hypnosis.

An introspective fanfiction about loss of control, OCD, Jax's vulnerability, and what happens when, for once, he doesn't push Pomni away and asks her for help instead.

    Summary

It was absolutely unremarkable. Some girl talking to herself as she explored a building that she was clearly bored of. Nothing special.

Jax… knew that voice, though. It made all of the difference. He wanted her to say something else-- he needed her to say something else. He could hear his heartbeat in his ears. In the back of his mind, he could hear a jester-looking girl laughing at something stupid he said.

(Or: After escaping the circus, Jax finds himself back in the unchanged real world. Unfortunately, the relationships he'd made-- and didn't make-- in the Circus continued to nag at him.)

    Summary

‘“It’ll be easier, if you stop,” Ragatha admits from her spot beside her on the sofa. They’re all present around where she’s curled up, a small indent against the cushions, watching each ragged breath tear through the round curves of her shoulder puffs. Her eyes are glazed over, dry without reprieve; she fights the urge to close them, because she’s almost certain that if she does she won’t ever wake up again.

    She’s pretty sure she’s dying.’

The human body can only survive up to three days without water. As Pomni is forced to acclimate to her new life in the circus, she can feel the tether connecting her to her real body dwindle with every passing day. Lying undiscovered in the remnants of a long abandoned building, her true body withering away to the elements, her consciousness is accompanied by various other trapped souls in Caine’s twisted wonderland. They’ve all been through the same brutal hazing; now they have to be there to sit through Pomni’s.
