Standing on the walls of destroyed Troy, Odysseus decides to change everything.

“Instead of me choosing.. Could I perhaps persuade you of another path?” he said, his voice more stern and sure of himself. Zeus raised an eyebrow “Go ahead! Quite unexpected, but I'll hear you out.”
“God's enjoy the praise and love they get from us mortals. The devotion. The passion and sacrifices. Well.. How about we give that to you? I offer you 50 men, including myself, as devotes to the gods.”
OR
An alternate path where Odysseus offers their devotion in exchange for mercy, and to avoid any more men dying. Once everyone agrees, the gods pick among the group and hijinks ensue.
