Seeing her name, her history, matching patterns in a hundred databases and seeing things she didn’t even know about herself yet. Looking out of human eyes, but seeing like a fae.
And then they came. The real owners of the Carterhaugh, no matter whose name was on a piece of paper somewhere. The lords of everywhere that couldn't afford organics and still relied on implants and computers.
