Powers within themselves were not a particularly rare trait and to walk down the street and witness a feat of magic was almost expected—basic enhanced speed or agility being amongst the most popular to overcome inner Essempei's rush hour by any means necessary. Briskly walking home through the streets of Logsted, Tommy isn't naive enough to use his powers to shave a measly 5 minutes off his journey; for he knew the consequences of rare powers and he NEVER wanted to go back there ever again.
