Summary
“It can certainly be an act of courage to give up decisively.”
How long can a man stay on a sinking ship? At what point does he save himself?
Or: In the weeks after the Trip and Montreal’s playoff loss, Shane starts to see his future unraveling. If he continues as is, he will spend his life meekly following in Ilya’s shadow and swallowing down small hurts every day. Or, he could choose to step off the path, as scary and uncertain as that may be.
Or: Shane Hollander chooses himself.

Summary
With the beautiful life Anthony had with his even more beautiful wife, it was hard to hold onto his regrets, or really, any negative feelings at all.
Still, sometimes, when there were whispered words behind their back by the vultures in society, when his wife was unfairly maligned, or even when there were simply a few too many mocking jests by his own family in reference to his past mistakes, Anthony felt the familiar stirrings of regret again.
If only he could go back and give his Kate the season she had deserved, one where he’d shown her from the beginning that she was all he had wanted and needed in a wife.
(Perhaps he should have known. After all, didn’t they say, be careful what you wish for?)
-
Or,S3!Anthony goes back in time somehow and ends up in S2!Anthony's shoes, where he decides he needs to get married to Kate again as soon possible, while at the same time, he can finally do what he wished he'd done: give her the courting she deserved.

Summary
“Read his letter, child.”
Kate looked up, startled.
“There is no letter,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Then read the ones you have,” Lady Danbury said simply. Her gaze held no judgment, only a quiet understanding.

Summary
Four emails, to be more precise. Four emails, all with a similar subject line and almost identical content. Four emails, from four sets of parents, withdrawing their kids from this year's Ottawa camps. The emails ranged from polite to extremely rude and slightly hostile, talking about their disappointment and how they no longer felt comfortable sending their kids there. Of course, there was no explicit reason mentioned in any of the emails (bar the last one, the angry parents had made their displeasure very evident there), so Shane could come to any conclusion he wanted to, regarding why this was happening. Maybe the parents have to work or travel that week, maybe there is a family emergency, or maybe the kid just happened to suddenly lose interest in hockey (although Shane found that hard to explain to himself; he simply couldn't imagine someone losing interest in hockey overnight). However, deep inside, Shane knew the exact reason this was happening…
The Irina Foundation had sent out emails and an official press release yesterday, confirming their coaches for this year's camp. And amongst all those incredible, famous, Stanley Cup-winning names was Troy fucking Barrett.
