God… he is so stupid.
He was just so… happy, having Shane there. Knowing he’d chosen to stay and had been willing to try something different because Ilya asked him to.
Ilya isn’t even entirely sure why he had wanted to switch roles this time. Maybe he wanted to feel something different… wanted Shane to be the one to make him feel it. Maybe he was just bored. Maybe he didn’t want the only time to have been with someone who was not Shane.
Ilya is stupid, and now Shane is gone.

Ilya Rozanov has a plan.
He and Shane are stupidly, disgustingly, almost offensively in love. They want a family. They're ready for the next impossible thing.

Ilya is thirty-seven, retired or close enough to taste it, and in possession of what he considers several important advantages: excellent genetics, Olympic hips, and an undeniable talent for getting exactly what he wants. He would thrive being pregnant. Shane would thrive managing the logistics.
Ilya offers to carry.

Summary
Ilya has a momentary flashback to the burn of vodka going down his throat as he chugged it right from the Stanley Cup, as he wished that Shane could’ve been there, that they could be together—and then the flashback ends, right as Ilya thinks he might actually be remembering something important. Whatever. He’s got Shane Hollander cuddling him, somehow. Maybe when he wakes up he won't be whatever the hell an "omega" is and he’ll be back in his own bed, which would be nice, but he’ll miss having Hollander here.
Ilya Rozanov makes a stupid wish about having a family with Shane Hollander, and unfortunately, the Stanley Cup grants it.
