Summary
Post the Exorcist Battle, the Hotel has been rebuilt, and the usual routine has resumed. Sort of.
Between one dazzling new event organized by Charlie and the next, Husk has realized he has a problem: something flutters in his stomach every time he thinks of Angel — the irritating, brazen, and adorably exasperating Angel Dust. Something he has absolutely no intention of admitting to the person in question.
Night after night spent at the bar counter, Angel realizes he has the same, damn problem. However, breaking down the walls that Husk — always taciturn and grumpy — seems to have built against the world feels like an almost impossible task.
Just like a rainbow, where each color is different yet essential to the others, Husk and Angel will discover — with an emotional and colorful rollercoaster ride — despite their traumas, addictions, and inability to communicate their feelings, that they simply cannot stay apart from one another.
Or: slices of (hellish) life in which Husk and Angel slowly became aware of their feelings. Rom-com and rainbow coded.

Summary
The recipe is simple. Take a forty-year-old man with a gambling - and alcohol - habit; add a divorce, a daughter and a mysterious Accident that tore him from Las Vegas and sent him to New York City. Add another, younger man: a drug-addicted sex worker from Brooklyn fresh out of rehab, with an abusive ex-boyfriend, a biting humor and a heart of gold. Mix in other ingredients: an adorably asshole friend, a chemist BFF with an Aussie accent, a psychiatrist who would be the envy of Disney princesses with a lot of problems and a few other infernal extras. Put it all together in a crazy night of misunderstandings and leave the result to cook slowly. What will come out of it?
Or: when Husk and Angel ended up in bed by chance and, again by chance, ended up falling in love. Just like in the best rom com.

The cards weren’t in his favor. “Husker, are you infatuated with that arachnid strumpet?”
“Yeah, yeah, I am,” he said, going for sarcasm and missing because of the weird panic that was edging into his laugh. “I’m thinkin’ a June wedding.”
“It’ll lead right into a July funeral, I suspect,” Alastor laughed, slapping his hand on the bar. “No wonder you’re so interested in releasing him from his contract. If Valentino heard there was someone who loved his prized star, why he would be absolutely livid.”
The cackle was unnecessary and Husk said as much, glowering. When that failed to shut him up, he waited until there was a lull and hissed, “Ya done?”
There was a pause, a ‘no,’ and then another chorus of maniacal laughter that sent Pentious, who had come into the parlor for something, slithering away with nothing more than an eep and an apology.
