Summary
“I know you want me, Vulpes,” Six says, a low murmur. Only for the two of them. Her eyes trace his collar bone, his neck, his sharp jaw. When he meets her eyes, they’re lowered. “I know you were going to ask Caesar if you could keep me before he announced our marriage.”
His face doesn’t change— but she knows it’s true. She saw how he watched her. How carefully he placed the Mark of Caesar on her neck. How his face fell when Caesar announced it at the dam, holding her hand high as he announced victory.

Summary
The Legion does not allow for sentiment. To want a woman; to ache for her touch, her attention, her approval... That is a profligate affliction Vulpes thought he’d been purged of in boyhood.
Yet Vulpes followed her west regardless. Starving for the brief moments when her attention shifts away from the horizon and lands on him.
A fulfilled request for anon.
