It had barely been three weeks since the body was discovered. A stabbing is far from an unusual call for the 118, but there was something strange about this one. As Buck sat quietly at Bobby and Athena's dinner table there was only one question that he couldn't get out of his mind. What was the deal with that damn notebook?

Summary
The rules were simple, each person puts $10 into a jar that'll be kept in Caps office for safe keeping, everyone who's playing gets dibs on one month of the year, if Buck and Eddie get together during that month you win the entire jar. And you could in no way shape or form interfere with their relationship in order to win.
Or: everyone agreed that they wouldn't mess with Buck and Eddie's relationship in order to win a bet, but a little bit of meddling couldn't hurt, right?

Buck groaned, snatching the paper back. “Don’t judge sixteen-year-old me. He had dreams.”
Hen leaned forward. “Oh, we’re judging. Sixteen-year-old you has handed us a gift—insight into all of your questionable teenage priorities.”
Buck crossed his arms, glaring at her. “Hey, some of it’s respectable! ‘Learn to surf?’ Solid goal. ‘Save a life?’ Pretty sure I've nailed that one.”
“Get into a bar fight, though?”
“I thought it’d make me look cool!”

“And you want me to what?” Eddie asks. “Talk shit about Gerrard so you can write some article that’ll get you a couple clicks but ultimately do shit. Not helping you with that.”
“I want you to date me.”
Eddie can’t help it.
He laughs long and loud.
Eddie date Taylor? The Taylor Kelly he hated the minute she walked into their firehouse with a camera and a plastic smile? The Taylor Kelly who wanted to broadcast Bobby’s breakdown in order to break into the news world? The Taylor Kelly who threw away a relationship with the single most incredible man for a story? A couple screws must have gotten loose in her head if she’s able to entertain the idea of Eddie ever saying yes.
With Gerrard terrorizing the 118, Eddie makes a split second decision to date Taylor Kelly in order to help her get rid of him. If Buck paid a little more attention to Eddie while he was with Taylor, then that was just a wild coincidence.
