Summary

Summary
Charles is still grinning at him crookedly and it is making it hard for Edwin to think of anything else. He has a sneaking suspicion that their developing romance might have a detrimental impact on their efficiency with casework. The other boy must notice the way that Edwin’s gaze is riveted to his lips, because his smile gets impossibly wider and he takes a step further into Edwin’s space so that he’s stood between Edwin, still seated in his chair, and the desk. He’s careful not to jostle the microscope and its precious samples, which Edwin appreciates. Charles might be impulsive and impetuous, but he’s almost always careful about things that matter.
