Summary
Erickson is the first Celestial to be put to the side and told to wait. Erickson followed orders and didn’t ask any further questions. He waited. Certainly not God, but perhaps Michael made a mistake. Lost the last page in her wretched clipboard or glazed over his name without thought. So he waited patiently for the correction.
A correction was not made.
If anything, the choice was solidified by the sudden appearance of another Angel materializing in the line he had not realized he had started. He thought he was gonna be the last celestial. He was not. Dozens followed after the new Angel. Another another another. All shades and sizes, young and old. Countless Angels appeared as the time passed, and Michael told them the same thing she told him. Every single last one of them.

Summary
Beth Chapel didn’t have any friends. Not really. Not for any valid reason that Rick Tyler can discern but simply because she was just a bit too much herself. Rick usually wouldn’t have made that connection if her lack of friends didn’t mean that she had to sit at his table.
And yes. He’s aware that it isn’t his table.
Technically they have both inhabited the same table for the same amount of time. But it still feels like Beth was the one invading his space. Just like she always has. Just like she probably will continue to do so.

Summary
“Dad!”
He needs his dad to stop making this everybody else’s fault. He needs to see him. His son. He needs to see the reality of it. Will needs to stop hiding, even if it makes his father speak to him with that fear-inducing voice again. “It’s not Coach Boomer.”His father was fine with other people’s kids being sidekicks. But not his. Not William. That hurts in ways he can’t describe.
Selective tolerance is not acceptance.
“It’s me, okay? I don’t have any powers.” William is trying so hard to not cry. He knows his father won’t appreciate the tears. Strongholds don’t cry.

Summary
Valentina was not amused by the newest member of the team. “You cannot have a dog here. It’s a health violation.”
“John is a health violation.” Yelena blurts out.
“I haven’t even said anything annoying yet, why am I being insulted?” John scoffs and Yelena shrugs. “Sorry, it’s an instinct.”
“I’m serious. You can’t have a dog. It’s not in the budget at all.”
