Summary
No one can ever know Castiel is a shapeshifter.
Not King Michael, whose hatred and prejudice are known all across the kingdom. Not Castiel’s apprentices at the royal garden or any others living in the castle. And definitely not his best friend, Dean – especially because he has already met Castiel's falcon but has no idea it’s actually him in animal form.

Summary
Castiel doesn’t have a lot of luck when it comes to romance. He downloads Tinder on a whim and soon finds out it’s not any easier in the virtual world. He’s about to give up completely when a miracle happens: someone keeps talking to him even after Cas explicitly says he doesn’t want to date. As days go by and Cas and the man continue to chat, Cas begins to question his own rules.

Dean’s life is simple: work, gym, weekend, rinse, repeat. He’s not really an expert, but he doesn’t have any qualms about chatting people up as he works out. At least not until he tries to offer well-meant advice to a blue-eyed hottie in shorts and gets shot down – turns out the guy is a real jerk. Castiel couldn’t see much in the dark, but there was a silhouette of a tall person standing in the room opposite of his. Judging from the depth of the voice, it must have been Dean Winchester, Jimmy’s best friend, sous chef, and co-owner of the bakery.
“Hello, Dean,” Castiel whispered. Even he heard it sounded way too official and too much like his princely self, so he quickly corrected. “I mean, hi. It’s just me. Go back to sleep.”
“What are you doing up?” Dean asked.
Oh, it’s nothing. I just snuck out of the palace in the middle of the night to switch places with your best friend, Castiel thought.
“I couldn’t sleep,” Castiel said out loud. “Too excited about the whole competition thing.”

“And I’m not a vandal,” the man shoots back. “My name’s Dean. And I think there’s been a misunderstanding—”
“No,” Castiel hisses. “I have watched you. I have seen you creep around with your shovel and your gun and I have seen you trying to desecrate the graves, my graves, so do not talk to me about a misunderstanding—”
Dean holds his hands up and shakes his head. “Shit, man, I swear I’m not trying to—”
Castiel has had enough, though, so he flicks his wrist and pushes Dean over one of the tombstones and down to the ground. Dean falls with a grunt and tries to stand up quickly, but Castiel keeps him pinned to the ground with a raise of his eyebrow.
“I am the guardian of this cemetery,” he states when he stops and looks down on the struggling man. “I will not be made a fool of, especially not by someone like you.” -

Somehow, he thinks, it doesn’t even surprise him. Dean has been all he can think about for these last few weeks, he’s the reason Cas smiles and he’s the reason Cas gets angry and he’s the reason Cas gets drunk and cries his eyes out. Summary
Dean and Castiel are locked in deadly combat, a battle that has raged for three years - a prank war that's been their Christmas tradition since their romance catastrophically failed to launch. Since they both work at the same huge grocery store, it's easy for things to get a little out of hand. This Christmas, however, things might not be as simple as covering up a fire they started in the dairy aisle; this year, Castiel is trying to deal with the fact that Christmas doesn't quite feel like Christmas anymore.
Also, Dean decided to wear mistletoe to work.
