    Ahsoka couldn't sleep. It wasn't for lack of trying, she’d been lying in her bunk, breathing to a meditation count for hours. In, slowly, hold and out, until she didn't seem to be able to get enough air.

    Last battle had been a hard one, and the one before that, and whatever came before that. She was tired.

     

    When neither of them can sleep in the midst of war, Ahsoka and Anakin are there for each other.

    Ahsoka bit her lip. It wasn't too late to turn back. She could lower her hand, step away from the door, retreat back down the hall, back to her bed. But...would that really help solve her current problem? She would be right back where she started again; staring up at her ceiling as sleep continued to evade her.

    No, Ahsoka thought. It would be fruitless to turn back. She had already made it this far. She might as well see it through.

    Letting out a breath, she waved open the door.

    Darth Vader and Ahsoka’s fight on Malachor takes a different path, and Ahsoka actually is able to save her master. Or rather, she’s able to convince him to save himself. Diverges from canon in the last few minutes of Twilight of the Apprentice and goes increasingly AU from there.
