When Grace gets seemingly teleported by means unknown into the SM-13 right as it was nearing The Light, both Simon and Grace have no idea what is happening. Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Once he is fully nude, clothes folded neatly on the chair nearby, he hops up onto the table and hisses as the metal shocks him with its cold touch. The room is otherwise warm so it comes as an unpleasant surprise. Grace is already in his space, hands swathed in blue as he begins to affix small nodes to the skin of his temples, his chest, his biceps, and thighs. If Grace notices that he leans in slightly, the other man does not say as much.
"Alright, lie back for me."

Grace can’t help himself.
“Nice to meet you, Serious. I’m Dr. Ryland Grace. Um- but everyone around here calls me Grace."
Silence.
“That’s your cue to tell me your name,” he notes.
The continued silence is deafening. Wide shoulders heave with heavy breath, that dark gaze tightening at Grace’s further insistence. Greasy, inky hair falls around his face, unruly tendrils shielding scarred skin from the outside.

Halfway back to Erid, the Hail Mary receives her third and final passenger.
