    Summary

Something seemed to come to Apollo’s head. “Athena, what’s the last thing you remember?”

She actually thought about that. “I actually don’t remember much? My brain feels scrambled. I think I remember training with Pallas a few days ago. You know? The mortal? She pushed me into a lake. I made a joke that not everyone were the granddaughters of Poseidon, and Triton asked why we were soaked, and-“

“..That’s enough, thank you.” Apollo interrupted her in a quieter voice than before. Athena didn’t think much of it.

    -

Athena is lucky she made it out of the games alive (well, not whatever the closest thing death was to gods). Maybe she could’ve been just a smidgen more lucky, though. Just enough so that the lightning strike had charred her brain a little to the left, and hadn’t made her memory (and mental age) collapse in on itself.

News flash, gods aren’t particularly the best at babysitting.

I grow weary of your unabashed laziness. You are supposed to be my most trusted herald, and yet you pawn off your duties? If you do not return to your station within the next several days you will be received with punishment most severe. Do not disappoint me further.

    -

Zeus demands Hermes return to his station instead of slacking off in Ithaca. Despite the fact that he continues to be more holey than holy after Poseidon's torment, Hermes is not about to disobey a direct order.

Others in his family seem to disagree on that front.

    Summary

There were rumors, quickly squashed by the island kingdom, that the Prince of Ithaca had grown wings on his feet when he was a boy. There were rumors that he had wings elsewhere too; on his back and behind his ears. They were squashed even quicker. Anyone who could get a look at the prince could see that his body was not adorned in feathers of any kind.

None of them knew, and Ithaca’s royal family planned to keep it that way. Fearing that this problem of unknown origin (curse or yet another divine being’s fling with a mortal) would be seen as an insult to the gods and bring down their wrath. Odysseus has grown used to having to cut down or hide the extra appendages, but the struggle only grew when he was forced into the Trojan War.

Now, with the war at its end and his fleet ready to return home, he only has one thing on his mind; getting home to his wife and son.

    OR

An alternate universe where Hermes's relation to one particular Greek hero becomes a bit more prominent, and he suddenly has a much better reason to help Odysseus on his journey home.
