Summary
Buck’s hair is gray at the temples, buzzed neatly on the sides and a bit longer and curlier on top than Chris remembers him wearing it, and there’s a new scar through one of his eyebrows. He looks good, like he’s living a happy life, and the only possible reason Chris can imagine for Buck to be here at Helena Diaz’s funeral in El Paso is that Chris’s father brought him.
“Why would you come?” Chris snaps at him.
Buck blinks. “Why wouldn’t I come?”
“She didn’t mean anything to you.”
“I’m not here for her,” Buck scoffs. “She is dead. I’m here for him.”

Chris is forced to grapple with the choice he made eleven years ago when his father comes back for Helena’s funeral.

“Do you know how many times I’ve had to do this?” Buck accuses, eyes wild. “Do you know how many times I’ve been broken up with today?”
“Tommy broke up with you?” Eddie frowns.
Buck cackles maniacally. “He did! Hundreds of times! And I thought I was supposed to stop it from happening! I changed everything. Over and over. And you,” he points, accusing. “You didn’t think to mention that you’re in love with me until the Last. Fucking. Time.”
Or, Buck gets stuck in a time loop. Eddie is very confused.

Summary
Wolves come in many different colors and coat patterns, their pelts as widely varied as human coloring. It can lead to some interesting looking wolves or some wolves that simply look like german shepherds but are much, much bigger.
The 118 has no idea what Buck looks like in wolf form and it's on purpose. He's never shifted in front of them, never joined them on pack outings- hell he's not even officially in the pack even after all these years. He says it's "not safe." Eddie's determined to figure out why and change it.

“I— I should get out of your hair,” he says.
Eddie turns to look at him, the movement sharp. There’s a look on his face that looks like he thinks Buck might have lost his entire mind.
“Did you hit your head on something?” he asks drily, like he knows that Buck didn’t. Buck hesitates anyway.
“Uh,” he says ineloquently. “I don’t think so.”
“Then why are you saying things that don’t make any sense?”
in other words, the diaz boys take buck home with them after the tsunami.
