Summary
Inspired by Lovecraft’s “The Thing at the Doorstep”, John has gained a new body, and tried to settle into an investigative practice with Arthur back in Arkham. However, he quickly finds that physical humanity suits him poorly, and longs for things to go back to the way they were. When he’s approached by someone who claims to also be inhuman in the same way he once was (and maybe still is) John finds a friend and confidant in the struggles he’s not brave enough to share with Arthur. But as his friend’s true nature is revealed and secrets from all parties become uncovered, John quickly realizes that his new friend is more dangerous than he could have ever imagined.

But Courier hasn't been ordinary since Benny put a round in her skull and buried her under three inches of topsoil (didn't even bury her all the way down, lazy bastard). Some switch deep in her head got flipped from OFF to ON, or from NO to YES. And so that one who used to live in this body died and this one who came from the dark woke up and now she's the kind of woman who can't tell you where she's from but can carry five hundred radioactive rockets in her bags everywhere she goes without breaking a sweat.
