But there are Princes in certain generations that look upon their half brothers as something more than competition, something more than threats to their chances of being King of Nasria. And they will do what they have to so that both of them can survive the succession. So that they can have their brothers for their own.

Summary
Christina's hand dropped, and with a nod, she stood straighter. Curiously, she didn’t look to meet Shalom's gaze, and her face was even redder than before. The girl was simply pursing her lips, kicking her feet as if to rid herself of the embarrassment.
Shalom stepped closer, nearly slotting herself between Christina's legs and taking hold of her chin, tilting it upward. She placed the small slice against the girl's lips, waiting.
“Oh!” Christina sputtered.
Her lips parted, letting Shalom's thumb press the slice inward until Christina was nearly suckling on the digit. She flushed, but Shalom pretended not to notice, pulling her thumb back with a hum and wiping Christina's lip.
“Good.”
As Christina finished swallowing, she managed a small, “Thank you.”
That was the first time Shalom chose to indulge the purity of one so young.
