Summary
The last thing Kate remembered was her daughter reading from the web novel again while she lay in her hospital bed. Now she finds herself living the life of a character in that very story. Of course it wasn't just any character, she had to be reborn as one of the main antagonists! What would happen if she didn't follow the story as it was laid out? Could she avoid the same or an even worse fate?

Summary

This idea has been living in my head for a while, mainly due to my wanting to read a Contemporary au, but alas alack-
Nobody had written any!
I am here to remedy that tragic fact.

Ascendance of a Bookworm if whichever God who reincarnated Myne didn’t set her up for near failure. Rozemyne is reborn as the first child of Aub Ehrenfest, and her biggest wish upon death is actually granted rather than ignored. The story of an Urano who is raised a lady and given free reign of the castle library until it, horrifyingly, runs out of new books!! What to do??
*There are some dark themes in this story that contrast with the cutesy and funny, just a warning. It won’t always be that way, but noble culture is pretty cutthroat.
**This story was written on a whim without any kind of plan or editing, and therefore it is not anywhere close to my current standard for my original, as of yet unpublished work. Please read at your own peril. First drafts are usually a mess, and I will likely never put this story through the ringer of 8 drafts like I did my first book I’m going to try to publish in the next couple years. Because of this, I appreciate any feedback given on the story in the event that I do choose to improve it one day, as such feedback can inspire my work in future chapters. I’m truly honoured that this little story has received such a warm welcome in the Ascendance fandom.

This idea started because I was tired of all the happy-go-lucky fanfics where they try to make everything perfect, while also inventing a gluten free substitute to sugar, and everyone lives happily ever after. I wanted to make a story where characters experience hardships and trials way heavier than the source material, while trying to keep a similar lighthearted tone to the light novels.
