Summary
"Good work, you two," Kotoha says, half paying attention to them and half to her notes. Haruka makes his way over to the wall to slump against it while Kotoha goes down her list, assigning co-pilots. As he slides down into a sitting position, Kotoha calls his name.
"Sakura," she scans the room for him and he stands back up with some effort to return to her line of vision, "You'll be working with Momijikawa."
It's not quite a sinking feeling in his gut, but maybe something like nerves twisting. While he hopes it's just a bad day for him, he does wonder if he's always so surly— he'll have to share a headspace and a living space with him for the next who knows how long. Haruka's vision falls onto Momijikawa standing near the door. When they make eye contact, Momijikawa turns away without hesitation and leaves the combat room.
Maybe it isn't just a bad day.

Summary
"Momi-chan, what took you so long to come join us?" Kiryu asks, chin resting on Haruka's shoulder like it's routine. And honestly, maybe it is; Sakae is rarely around Haruka with his other friends. He knows Nirei is a fairly touchy person, but not quite like this.
"Indecision," he answers truthfully, "I know I have a reputation, and it's not exactly wrong… Meeting people isn't my favorite thing."
"Aw," Kiryu coos, yet it lacks any mockery, "But you're trying for Sakura-chan~"
He didn't need to word it quite like that, Sakae thinks, feeling his face warm up slightly.
"It's nothing," he says too abruptly. Kiryu smiles in a way that immediately gets under Sakae's skin— he feels much too seen in this moment.

Summary
Sakae places a hand over Haruka's and squeezes.
"You know what could happen," he starts, "You know what I could do, how I got last time..."
Haruka nods, "I told you, I can handle that," and he pauses a moment, "Are you okay with... With the. Or do you not want to do that?"
He has a feeling he knows what Haruka is attempting to say, but if he wants clear boundaries and no misunderstanding this time, there's no room for vague language.
"Haruka," he says, waiting for Haruka to meet his eyes, though it certainly takes a beat longer than he expected, "Say what you mean."
And Haruka's eyes avert again, so so quickly, before he ducks his head altogether and inhales sharply.
"Sex," he says in a small, strangled voice, "Is that something on the table?"
Maybe this time, things can be a little different.

Summary
Haruka, contrary to his usual flush, blanches as Sakae hands him a small box.
"You don't-- you think so?" Haruka stammers. Sakae isn't too sure why it's surprising to Haruka.
"Is this not what we've been trying for?" he asks, and Haruka looks at the pregnancy test in his hands with an expression Sakae finds difficult to parse. Haruka nods, eventually, and Sakae feels a twinge of doubt creep up his neck.

Summary
Sakae wakes up to the sound of sheets rustling, however quiet the sound may be. At first, she's not even sure she heard anything, until the sound of body movements shifting along fabric sounds again, and she rolls over toward the center of the bed. Mitsuki's frame moves in a silhouette in front of the dim light that makes it through the window, though again, Sakae isn't fully sure the movement is enough to have caught her attention. She whispers out into the dark of the room, hoping if Haruka is still asleep that she won't wake her.
"What are you doing?"
Mitsuki's shadow stills, then rummages around before her phone's flashlight switches on and Sakae can see her face. It's the face of a woman up to no good.

Summary
A moment of awareness flashes across Sakae's face, but as quickly as it appeared, it sinks back below the surface, and Sakae takes Haruka's face roughly in his free hand.
Don't fight back.
Don't fight him.
The only word that leaves Sakae's mouth is, "No."
Haruka's pulse races. This is wrong, he's not a terrified little animal. He shouldn't feel panic. Sakae's hand holding his face tightens its grip-- it hurts, so much so that Haruka gasps audibly in pain. He scans Sakae's face, but sees nothing warm or familiar looking back at him. In spite of himself and the sharp pain, Haruka chuckles wryly.
"You really aren't in there, are you?" he chokes out, and the hand leaves his jaw to wrap around his neck
Sakura thinks he can handle an unstable alpha in rut, and in the process risks ruining a relationship he holds in high regard.

Summary
Just as Haruka closes the door, Mitsuki slips in before it gets locked, and Haruka startles before he realizes just who has crammed into the small space with him.
"Wh… What are you doing?" he stammers, and as Mitsuki starts removing his shirt, Haruka's face begins warming a shade of red.
"Changing?" Mitsuki offers, hanging the shirt on a hook, and Haruka glares at him pointedly.
"Why are you in here?" he tries again.
"Haru-chan, it's not like you haven't seen more than this," Mitsuki says, instead of answering the question, and he begins removing his pants as well. Haruka grunts in frustration.
"But we're in public," he hisses. Mitsuki laughs.
"Semi-public," he corrects, as if it matters.

Summary
If Sakae can claim to be adept in any art, it would be culinary. He doesn't consider himself an artist, though, not really, much less a photographer, but his camera roll is packed to the brim with photos he's taken. There's nothing particularly prolific or skilled about anything he's photographed, but they almost all share a common subject: Haruka.

Summary
For a moment, Haruka watches Sakae cycle through a series of thoughts. Belatedly, panic begins to set in. It must occur to Sakae just as Haruka realizes exactly what's wrong with him, and he scrambles to get up off the couch before Sakae can say anything.
"I have to go home," he says, too rushed to sound casual, and stumbling through the living area, but he's not faster than Sakae in this moment as Sakae seizes his wrist.
"Haruka."
"Don't," Haruka starts, not facing Sakae. The panic squeezes his chest. No one was supposed to find out.
"You aren't sick, are you?" Sakae continues.
"Shut up," Haruka whispers, vision spinning uncomfortably fast, whether from his panic or his current condition, he's not sure.

Summary
Haruka isn't sure what he'd been expecting, but he finds himself amused that what Sakae shows him is a very educational and clinical page. While the content matter has his face so pink it feels numb, the presentation is so laughably sterile. Sakae clears his throat, a nice matching blush on his own cheeks, and he sets the phone down.
"So..." he starts. Haruka swallows, quiet a moment in thought.
"I wanna try..." he replies, grateful his back is against Sakae so he doesn't have to look him in the eyes. His whole body feels kind of numb-- a little excitement and a lot of nerves.
Sakae leans his head against Haruka's and exhales an airy laugh, "Yeah? I was-- I kind of worried it'd weird you out," he says.
Haruka bites his lip and shifts a little.
"If people like it," he says quietly, "Everything else has been good, you know?"
"Okay," Sakae murmurs, placing a small kiss on Haruka's cheek, "I'll take care of it then."

Summary
"Haruka," Sakae hums, "I love you; I'll wait as long as it takes."
Haruka's breath catches. He wants to continue, asking 'what if it never happens?' but he's stuck on Sakae's other words. To the best of his knowledge, this is only the second time in his life anyone has said "I love you" to him, and for his own part, he's never said the words out loud himself.
"You... I--" Haruka starts, stumbling over his thoughts as they break through like a dam, an awful urge to cry still held back by a lifetime of conditioning, but Sakae interjects softly.
"You don't have to say it back," he says. Haruka's brow furrows.
"But I do, I just..." saying it is hard, even if he means it entirely. Because he does, he loves Sakae, "I'm sorry I always need time..."
Sakae's hand comes to rest on Haruka's face, and he presses a ghost of a kiss to his nose.
"I'm not going anywhere."----

Summary
Sakura's eyes dart back to his phone screen and he fires off an absent-minded response text to the group chat before setting the phone down on his chest. Vaguely, he notices the pattering of rain on the window behind him, but doesn't entirely process it. Not yet. Instead, he feeds an impulse, a strange little curiosity that bubbles up, and slowly stretches his legs out a bit more, until his toes have tucked under Momijikawa's thigh. He's just. Really warm, and it's nice. He also doesn't acknowledge Sakura's movements, not at first. As Sakura readies to pull back, Momijikawa absently sets his hand on Sakura's ankle and lightly squeezes.
The air in the room vanishes, as does any sound, replaced by a loud ringing and the sound of his own heartbeat.

Summary
Sakura huffs, "I'm here to help, so let me help, dammit."
Before Sakura has a chance to put the kettle on the burner, Momijikawa stands and wobbles toward the bathroom.
"Gonna shower," he says between coughs, "I feel gross."
"Come on, really?" Sakura protests, speed walking after him, "You can barely stand!"
Momijikawa stops, looking for a moment like he's considering, and he glances over his shoulder to offer Sakura a small, troublesome grin, saying, "Then come help me."
During the course of Sakura's life up until now, and particularly since coming to Makochi, he's experienced plenty of moments that have left him pathetically red in the face. Sure, he's learning to process his emotions better these days, but there are moments. With that being said, he's pretty sure this is the worst; he can feel his face heating up. Momijikawa laughs, a pitiful hacking laugh, but a laugh nonetheless.
