Atsushi couldn't distinguish which wounds were old and which one's were new. In his cemented cell, he used his never-ending blood leaving his wounds to tally the days until he lift this wretched jail. He wrote on his thin blanket sheets using his sanguine fluid to write suicide notes, poems, or play tic-tac-toe with the voices in his head—never missing how you could see what was said, even though there were dozens of layers of gore laid on top of each other.

Summary
Atsushi gets affected unknowingly by the ability user they are trying to track down; he slowly watches and feels himself dieing with out being able to do anything :D.
So with little clues and a little knowledge the group that had been set up for the mission and Atsushi himself, try to track down and deal with this disease ability user(with several trials and errors) before new symptoms arise, old ones get worse, or worse comes to worse he ends up dead.
Other issues (one specifically involving a certain black haired Mafioso) also arise in Atsushi's time of crisis as he barely spends a moment away from the other while Akutagawa is by doctors orders made to "babysit" Atsushi as his health deteriorates. With weeks on end spent together in the same hotel room, vulnerable and half delirious, its only reasonable that other feeling between the two break way to the point its hard to ignore.
2,500-15,000+ words per chapter, but they get longer as you read, so you're eased into it.
