Navigating the dark while trying to keep his senses alert for incoming threats and on his struggling partner at the same time was taxing, but Toshinori kept up his vigilance. Energy low, exhaustion dragging at his mind and body, and chronic pain a constant, it was proving to be a greater task of just to keep moving forward. When he heard the sound of stumbled footsteps from a few paces behind him, he redirected his focus onto who traveled in this empty hellscape with him.
