Summary
They ended up at the bar to refresh their drinks when Mulder unexpectedly ordered them shots.
“Trying to get me drunk?” Scully said and looked up at him through her eye lashes. She wanted to make him a little uncomfortable, play with him and his endearing sense of chivalry.
He looked down at her, holding out the second shot glass, and smiled, refusing to take her bait. “Absolutely.”
She glanced back down at the shot glass and sucked in her bottom lip. She was, in fact, already rather drunk. This shot and the martini she had just ordered would probably do her in for the night and they had a flight the following day and, really, she just shouldn’t be getting this drunk with her work partner.
“Come on, Scully,” he said in that deep, beautiful timbre his voice could take on when he wanted to endear himself to her. “It’s your birthday.” He kept saying these words like the designation ‘birthday’ changed the rules. She looked up at him and saw the playful lilt in his eyes. “And I really want to see the remarkable, brilliant, stunning Special Agent Doctor Dana Scully get shit-faced drunk.”Bookmarked by H3LL0SW33T13
