Summary
In the end, it had been the Yiling Patriarch’s stratagems and his fierce fighting which had turned the tide of the war. He had killed both Wen Ruohan’s sons, and floored the traitor so that Meng Yao could strike the final blow. His status as the strongest warrior on the field had been undeniable.

Summary
Forced to make a choice, Wei Wuxian questioned whether his side was the right one. Wondered whether the people he chose to protect and fight among would do the same. With hope a vanishing thought, Wei Wuxian no longer fought against the shackles that caged him to words he knew they claimed him to be.
They named him selfish. So he accepted their truth, no longer blindly reaching out his hand for them to grab and instead, reaching out to the side that they named alike to who he'd become.
Making a choice for himself, he fell to the side of the side of a man whose very hand had singlehandedly led to the demise of balance that constantly echoed in his ear by their honey-coated preaches that held no promise of anything better.
