Summary
Keiji had immediately found him arrogant, his glasses pulled up on his head despite the blinding sun, his backpack dangling from one shoulder, and his smile so wide it deformed his face.
"Hello." he had said to him as soon as he got off the shabby minibus that Franco, a man in his 40s who lived down in the village, drove every day from the train station to take tourists and non-tourists to their destination.
"Follow me." replied Keiji before turning around and making room for himself among the leaves of the bushes that, still uncut, disturbed the path of passersby on that sidewalk.
He was still smiling and Keiji still could not stand that smile, and the more he smiled, the less Keiji could stand it.
It was going to be a long summer.

‘Drowning,’ Wylan repeats, giggling. He burrows into Jesper’s side, making himself comfortable, and Jesper can’t help the besotted grin tugging at the corner of his mouth—but that’s okay, because everyone else looks charmed by their resident pigeon too.
‘Yeah?’ Nina says, from where she’s sat almost entirely in Mattias’ lap, ‘Were you drowning in alcohol, Wylan?’
‘No,’ he says, drawing the word out, and then he shakes his head again like he’s trying to think of something, ‘Weeeell, I’ve been drowned before. But not in alcohol.’ And, as if to offset the statement, he giggles and relaxes into Jesper once again.
(or, where an innocuous word makes a drunk, loose-lipped wylan spill the beans about his childhood.)
