Not yet.” He watches as her lower lip quivers, her mouth caught between trying to hold in a sob or let loose a smile. “My mom told me not to screw things up with you, but I think maybe I needed to screw it up to be able to make it here.
“You’re my other half, Rey. You’re my purpose in life. My best friend. My love. Everyday you give me more of yourself, but I can’t help asking for something else.” He takes her hand in his, rubs his thumb along her naked ring finger. “Be with me. Be my wife.”
