It’s not a ‘real’ one -- his mom couldn't afford to splurge the thirty bucks, and he couldn’t stand the wait for one of those donation sites to take pity on him. So to help, his mom found one of his old swimming costumes and sewed it up so it sat snug over his chest. it digs into his ribs, and, yes he ends up aching by the time he goes to bed every night. But ultimately it’s better than the alternative.
It’s better than going weeks without a shower as to not see his chest when he looks down.
It’s better than looking in a mirror and hating everything about the person staring back with every fibre of his being.
And it’s better than wearing layer upon layer even in the summer to cover up his chest.' -
