Summary
We are never told what happens to Niko if we return the sun at the end of OneShot. Did they die on the spot? Did they go on to live a happy life? Was it good or bad? All of it is unclear.
This is what I think happened.
Niko is now stranded in the strange world, forced to figure out a strange new life for themselves. Luckily, they made a lot of friends during their pilgrimage, so what is the worst that could happen?

Summary
Beyond the walls of the planet Earth, there laid a realm opposite to our own. A realm filled with demons and monsters, humanoids that casted magic using nothing but their fingertips and a little bit of heart. This realm was known commonly as the demon realm, with a mighty emperor at the top to rule over all who reside on the corpse known as the Boiling Isles.
But, ten years ago, the sun that once shone brightly over the isles burnt out. Two years later, a witch was born to a single mother in the small town of Bonesborough. A brilliant star passed through the sky that night and lit up the darkened streets of the isles–many speculated it was a sign from the titan itself, that a messiah had been born, one who would bring life back to the isles once fate chose to set their journey into motion.
When tragedy strikes their humble abode, will Niko be willing to carry on for the sake of the isles they call home?
Or: An Owl House and Oneshot crossover au, where Niko is the messiah of the Boiling Isles. They're called by The Collector to save the demon realm and set him free.

This AU explores how the Tianhuo catastrophe could have turned out differently if GMing the Fusang gene out of solarians was seriously considered as a solution to the crisis. With Tianhuo cured, but Penglai irreversibly covered in infectious flowers, Yi's goal is to evacuate the solarians to the Pale Blue Planet and form an alliance with two roughly 15th century human societies of my own creation. It will be told primarily from the perspective of Heng, Yi, and an OC of mine. It will also feature some altered Origin and Foundation Era lore. Good things will happen! But the horrors will persist :3
