“As I was saying before we got interrupted, Lan Zhan, you remember when we got trapped in that cave in Wen territory… when my heat caught us off guard?” Wei Wuxian asked, lowering his voice in an effort to stop his pup from hearing him.
As Xichen watched as Wangji’s eyes widened in realisation, the final piece of the puzzle slotted into place for him as well. For the first time in his life, he felt like he wanted a drink.
Two children. His little brother had lain with Wei Wuxian a minimum of two times, and each of those times had resulted in the conception of a pup. Wangji had gotten Wei Wuxian pregnant twice… before marriage!

After helping the four major sects win the Sunshot Campaign, Wei Wuxian - for some unknown reason that even his siblings were unwilling to reveal - left Lotus Pier and politics behind entirely. From that day on he was only ever spotted briefly in passing on night hunts.

At sixteen Wei Wuxian is—through some strange twist of fate, or a nick in the layer between parallel universes, who knows—out of the blue confronted with that one incense burner dream one night.
While his curious mind is left unable to stop poking at this new perspective on Lan Wangji, circumstances in the Cloud Recesses begin to change and Wei Wuxian is suddenly presented with life-altering opportunities.
Maybe Gusu isn’t so bad after all?
(Or alternatively: The fic where I get to give Wei Wuxian the academic scholarship he deserves while simultaneously getting him hitched early on.)

Every family must send an alpha or beta to the army that is being raised quickly by Lan, Jin, and Nie, against the invading Wen clan, after they had destroyed the Jiang so scarily efficiently and suddenly.
