Your stomach flips, caught off guard by the unfiltered affection in his tone. You avert your gaze, clearing your throat.
“Well, wake up, sleepyhead.” You give his vest a firm tug, gesturing toward the sign. “We’ve arrived. Raccoon City. And it looks like you’re supposed to be Leon.”
Xavier exhales sharply, pushing himself up to his knees. He glances down, turning over his arms, inspecting the gear now strapped to him. His expression is unreadable until his fingers brush against his belt, where a sleek black handgun rests securely in its holster.
He unclips it, weighing it in his hands before cocking it experimentally. A slow smirk tugs at his lips.
