Sherlock ignored the way his eyes stung as he read the familiar name, blinking the tears away, refusing to let them fall. The refined cursive calligraphy cruelly stared back at him.

In the dark apartment, with Chuuya in his arms, half delirious and wholly broken, the softness seeps into Dazai’s voice unbidden.
“We’re at your place, I’m going to put you in bed. And you’re going to be nice this time.”
Chuuya hides his face under the coat thrown over him, rests his head against Dazai, and hums.
It could be an agreement, not that it means anything. He’s not really here, not fully, and these things are never nice. Dazai won’t resent him for it.
OR: Dazai takes care of post-corruption Chuuya. Except this time, Arahabaki keeps coming back.

Quietly to himself, Dazai rolls over the information in his head. He knows that can’t be all there is to it. Had Chuuya been a less temperamental boy, it might have been convincing — but even in his short time knowing him, Dazai is fully aware that asking Chuuya to be docile and complicit in such a scenario is like asking a fish to breathe out of water. It might happen for a short while, but not really.

Or, one of Chuuya's operations does not go the way it should have, and Dazai finds himself feeling foolish for not considering the possibility.

Summary
Someone else could treat their wounds. Someone else could pick Chuuya up from a bar in the early morning. Someone else could haul Dazai out of a river. It rarely was someone else, but other people were capable of doing those things. Dazai was the only person in the world who could silence Arahabaki. So no matter the current state of their relationship, Dazai would help Chuuya with his ability if he needed it.
But accidents happen.

Double Black has an agreement that Dazai will always help Chuuya when Arahabaki is bothering him. But things get a bit more complicated after the god’s voice starts up after an argument between the two of them.
