There were plenty of things that Officer Vash Saverem wanted to be doing on a Saturday night (At the top of the list was “asleep in bed”, and under that was “in the break room with a box of donuts and a good book”, and if he had to pick a third option, it would be “curled up on the couch with a glass of wine and a movie, having a pity party over his lack of a social or dating life”) but he had resigned himself to being regrettably conscious while he was out on patrol, thinking of all the things he’d rather be doing.
Nowhere on the list did he have “standing in a Wendy’s parking lot trying to hold back a clearly intoxicated man in sunglasses and a suit from beating Vash’s brother’s weird blue friend Legato over the head with a bag of chicken tenders”.

The truth of it was that it didn't matter what side the coin landed on. Even as she tossed it into the air and watched it flip over itself, Fearne knew what her choice would be. So she kept silent on what the outcome was, and made her apologies to Laudna. They would find a way, they wouldn't just leave her.
But Fearne was selfish. And when the life of someone else (even Laudna, sweet, fun-scary, selfless, kind Laudna, who Fearne loved so much) was weighed against Orym, Orym would always come first to her.

When Daichi had walked into room 126, he had been prepared for a lot of things: a grumpy patient, possible projectile vomiting (it wasn't uncommon), crying, and being generally miserable. What he was not prepared for was the man lying in the bed. The extremely attractive man with unruly gray hair and the prettiest face Daichi had ever seen on an adult man.
