Makoto's had complicated feelings about Crow since the moment they met. It doesn't help that everything he does makes him more suspicious, and it certainly doesn't help that he pointedly and consistently never assuages a damn one of her concerns.
(Crow is mean and sharp and frightening, haughty and rude, impossible, dangerous, and the Phantom Thieves like him. Not even anyway; they like him with and for it. She's never envied anything more.)

She’s grinning, still, and knows he can see it on her— an expression that only brightens when he snaps out to grab her wrist and lever it above her head, pinning her hand roughly to the mattress. “Ooh, and forceful. Gonna ravage me, Crow?”
“I’m considering it,” he says. That sharp grin of his flashes across his stupid unfair handsome face. “If you’d rather I play the chivalrous prince I suppose I could make love instead.”

You just curl up and shiver once he’s gone, just imagining again how big and rough his hands are, what he could do to you, what he did do to you--with just a twitch of his hand he broke your bones, when you can barely get your own claws to pierce your own skin. this is my favorite fic of all time, so i’m really not sure how i managed not to bookmark it in the last ten years,
(SOOOOOO good. so paradoxically poignant, so well written, such fun and creative worldbuilding and sincerely delightful ocs and and and. read it it’s worth it i don’t care if you know things about homestuck. actually wait no if you like my work but not homestuck you’ll immediately notice how much it’s Defined My Writing and that feels dangerous)

It turns out that Daisy still has a sturdy set of metal handcuffs from her days on the force. Jon knows that they weren’t with her on her trip through the Buried, because they’d both had to just give up and throw the clothes that they’d been wearing when they went into the Coffin away as unsalvageable lost causes. The cuffs would still have dirt caught in their teeth.
