It’s not intentional. It’s being on the field that does it, maybe. Leona reaching for the water bottle in Ruggie’s hand like they’ve always done. But it’s a hand, reaching towards him, and that hand is Leona’s, and Ruggie’s arm burns.
He tastes the salt of Leona’s sweat first, then the blood, metallic through his mouth.

“Ah, Jamil, well you see, Kalim and I were doing an assignment in class when-” Crewel snapped his whip causing both of the boys to jump, “This pup fell asleep in the MIDDLE of making a potion causing it to explode all over his partner.” He finished.
Silver brought a hand to his forehead with shame, “Yes, that.”
Jamil could already feel the onslaught of gray hairs he was about to get just from this interaction alone, taking a deep resounding breath, he inquired, “What kind of potion was it and how serious is the situation?” Depending on their answer, hopefully this predicament wouldn’t be as strenuous as Jamil thought and maybe he would have some peace for the evening.
Crewel sighed, and stared at Jamil before stating, “It was originally supposed to be a simple reversal concoction, turning plants into seeds and bugs into larvae,” Jamil physically shivered. Crewel massaged his temples, “What it ISN’T supposed to do is revert human beings back into children.”
Well out of all things, that..didn’t seem so bad. Babysitting Kalim was nothing new to him after all.

“Kalim, it's been a while,” he says as he pushes a button to indicate the drink he wants. “Jamil, good work out there.”
They might be cousins, Jamil can't say they’re much alike in terms of temperament. His assessment of Minajael has considerably changed in the span of the last two hours – before, he was simply a spoiled and pampered little boy unaware of the world, much like Kalim, but that was an oversight – in parts due to the defeat he just went through. Underestimating him has been his greatest mistake in the Relic's Labyrinth event, leading to NRC losing by a large margin – though Azul and the others were also at fault for not taking their RSA opponents seriously.
Or: After NRC loses to RSA in the first match of the interschool competition, Jamil and Kalim bump into Minajael taking a break. A family reunion ensues.
