“Is there no other way?!” He starts fumbling for ideas. “Can I not…can I just skip this heat?”
The Medical Master shrugs. “Well, you can skip it by continuing to suppress your hormones. Then, you’ll get a qi deviation and you’ll die an excruciating death. It’s your choice.”

Summary
Xie Lian's last believer is so fervently devoted to him that he seems to think mostly in the form of prayer. That is a terrifying prospect.
