a messy one-night stand in the spaces of episode 7 of the animated series. canon compliant; exploring the space before molly joins up with the others. borrows characterisation from various sources, but the only thing it spoils is episode 3 of the animated series. fully written—i will publish a chapter every day for nine days.

Astarion’s eyes flutter with surprise. “I-I would like that. I’ve held more people than I can count. An infinite parade of lovers. But a friend?” He pauses on the question and his face becomes crestfallen. “I can’t think of a single one.”
He puts his hand out to Effy, to which she happily accepts.
“Until you,” he says with a smile—that only she’s ever seen.
Ever since that moment the two remained friends and even got an apartment together in the Lower City shortly after defeating the Netherbrain.
It’s been several months since; and Effy is still happily living with her vampire bestie, but Astarion’s been acting different lately…

the most stunningly written character study; Effy is the character of all time.
this fic is... something else. it’s set after the game, but it feels like a modern AU. We get Gale and Effy singing Doja Cat at karaoke. Effy is constantly drunk, living for the thrill of one-night stands, carrying the weight of a failed career and a toxic ex who left her broken. She’s stunning, self-destructive, and equal parts tragic and magic.
But more than anything, Effy feels real. She’s one of the most fleshed-out characters I’ve encountered in any written work. It’s no surprise that June’s fans create so much free art of her—Effy lingers in the hearts of her readers because she’s not just a character; she’s someone we all can see, understand, and root for.
The story is the slowest of burns. It has chapters anywhere between 1k and 25k words. It contains so much heartfelt longing and poor communication that any shoujo manga would be jealous of it, but every single word of it hit like a brick.

Summary
What if the person who helped make Astarion into an at least semi-functional person was just suddenly... gone? What would he do then?
This is a post-canon exploration of just that!
We see how Astarion becomes the spawn you can meet at the epilogue party, if you did not romance him. Also he gets forced to admit he has FRIENDS. (Eventually.)
It starts off not that long after the victory over the brain, sadly Karlach flipped a soul coin and decided to burn up instead of going on a romantic Avernus trip with Astarion, so now he's trying to figure out how to be a person all on his own.
Shit.
What will Astarion (and I guess the other less important people) left behind do now?
Especially when events conspire to force Astarion to re-examine his feelings about his not-siblings under Cazador and to stop pulling away from his traveling companions. They are only being nice to him because that is what she would want... right?
You can see the tags, he's not really on his own. This is a good thing, despite how much he whines about it.

Summary

Astarion has lost all the spoils of his Ascension and is reunited with his ex Minx, who is confronted with all her lost memories of being Bhaal's chosen. With a growing list of people that need re-killing, being stuck in the middle of a diabolical plot, running a murder cult and Astarion once again a spawn, can they find out what happened and return to the present?
