There was really no explanation. They argued all the time, and yet ever since that night at the Rialto, there had been an undeniable gravitational pull between the two of them. A pull that forced Joey to allow Pacey closer each time he attempted to kiss her. Joey still felt his breath against her mouth. Being behind the camera would prevent her from having to kiss Pacey and all the weird butterflies the prospect was making her feel.

Maybe it was considered pathetic to be hung up on an ex-girlfriend like this, but when that ex-girlfriend was Joey Potter, Pacey figured the universe would grant him a little leeway.
And hearing from her, even if it was just her roasting him in emails, made the very long days at sea less lonely.
