“You okay?” she asked, her voice softer now, less playful. She glanced at him with those sharp, discerning eyes, the ones that saw too much.
Bruce avoided her gaze, pulling the cowl off as he moved toward the bathroom. “Selina, I’m fine,” he said brusquely. “I’m going to shower.” He was already peeling off his gloves, blood smudged on the tips."
OR Bruce cuts again, Alfred is disappointed, and Selina is unaware and concerned.

Bruce wayne was never tethered to life by happiness.
He was tethered by usefulness.
By the quiet certainty that somewhere, someone required him to exist tomorrow. That his presence filled a gap that could not yet be closed. That if he stopped moving, stopped breathing, something vital would fail. someone would fall.
so when he knows his kids dont need him anymore, bruce wayne decides to leave, for he does not have a purpose anymore.

It’s just another day for Master Wayne, and so Bruce ignores the ache in his limbs and the pounding in his head and dutifully brushes his teeth and buttons up his uniform, the stiff collar of his shirt pressing against his sore throat.

Summary
Bruce has always been… unconventional. He wasn't given a very good hand in the first place, with everything he's gone through it's no wonder he's a bit different. Although sometimes it can sting, he's proud of the things he's done. If he changed anything, he wouldn't have his beautiful pups. And he would never have gotten the chance to truly meet his partner.
He should have known better to let his guard down.
