    “Why did you have to go and get traded?! You realise we’re going to have to see each other every day from now on, and play together, and-”

    “Yes,” Ilya interrupted. He didn’t want to know how long Hollander’s list was. “I know.”

    Hollander took a deep breath. “Okay, listen,” he said. “Just so we’re clear - we don’t know each other outside of playing against each other, right?”

    “Right.”

    “And we can’t- can’t hook up anymore.”

    OR: Ilya gets traded to Montreal in October 2014. He's lonely, and angry, and he misses Boston. He doesn't know if it helps that Hollander is there or not.

    “I mean… you’re not with him,” Cliff said carefully, and Ilya sat up, glaring at his best friend. “Oh come on, Roz, you know that’s true. Maybe you’re friends now or whatever, but he’s not agreed to be with you or anything.”

    Ilya sniffed, his eyes welling up in that way they only tended to after too many drinks. “I… I would be perfect for him, Marly. I would treat him soooo good, I would kiss his little freckles, and fuck his pretty little hole-”

    “Okay, that’s enough,” Cliff said, cutting Ilya off in his prime.

    Shane Hollander is tired of men who can't keep up with what he needs without being taught how.

    So, one drunken night, he sends a tweet into the void:
    I’m done with training men to be what I need. Where can I find a man who doesn’t need instructions?

    Ilya Rozanov sees it and decides this is finally his chance. Because if Shane wants a real man - someone confident, someone capable, someone who can give Shane exactly what he wants - then Ilya is more than happy to volunteer.

    All he has to do is prove to Shane that the man he's been looking for has been right in front of him all along.
