But it is hard to remember when he sees the way Raine and Eda just picked up where they left off so naturally and he’s over here, having an internal nervous breakdown watching Alador work from a distance as they pretend there aren’t decades of unspoken rift between them.

“You know, I never asked for this!” Kaveh yells. “Do you really think I haven’t been trying? Do you think I love having you hold all of these things over my head? I swear every second I spend here gets more and more unbearable!”
The room seemed to pulse with the intensity of their emotions. Alhaitham’s mouth tugs down into a frown, and something flickers in his eyes.“If it’s so unbearable, then why haven't you left?”
Kaveh's breath caught in his throat as the question echoed through the air.
It was a question that had found its way into Kaveh's thoughts time and time again.
Yet, no matter how frequently he confronted the question 'Why?', Kaveh knew the answer all too well. It lurked within, an answer he was determined to ignore—a truth isolated within the deepest recesses of his heart. Nevertheless, it remained an ever-present ghost that would continue to haunt him.
(Or, an argument between Alhaitham and Kaveh leads to some feelings being revealed)
